Beltane, originally an Irish-Celtic holiday, represents the peak of Spring and celebrates the coming of Summer and the fertility of the forthcoming year. It is the halfway point between the Spring Equinox and the Summer Solstice. It is also the time when the earth and elemental energies are at their strongest and most active, amplifying attraction between opposites, physicality, sexuality, beauty, love, and sovereignty. It is a time when the faery realms grants wishes, and the time of the union of the Goddess and the Green Man.
